Hide in Cracks and Crevices of the Home

When it comes another type of bug known to eat people’s clothes would be the common clothes moth. Also better known by its scientific name Tineola Bissa. During the day, bed bugs will hide in cracks and crevices of the home. They will come out to feed on human blood during the night while you are asleep in your bed.

Bed bugs will hide in the railings of the bed and the mattress. They will also hide behind wallpaper, baseboards, light plates, picture frames, and in the crevices of furniture.

Most of these bugs can be found in the Southern part of the United States and upper regions of South America. What this means is that this bug is a new world species of bug meaning that it is solely found in only in the Americas. Who named this insect would be the entomologist Arvid David Hummel of Sweden. The family the common clothes moth belongs to is the Taeniidae family. As for the Greek meaning of Taeniidae means headband.

Bed bugs can flatten their bodies so that they can crawl in the tiniest of places that you would not think they could get underneath.

When bed bugs do come out during the night they bite you. The bites will cause you to itch severely and leave bumps and marks on your body. By the time you realize you have been bitten by bed bugs, they are back in the crevices, cracks of the wall, wallpaper, picture frames, baseboards, crevices of the furniture, and railings of the bed or mattress.
