Timmy is a growing boy, and he asks his father one day… how are babies born? His father then proceeds to pats his shoulder and invites him to the sofa, to further discuss about the circle of life. His father talks about when a boy and a girl love each other very much, they give each other a long hug.
Timmy’s father has a very different way of mating than other species on the planet. For example, Ants. They live completely different lives under the gravel to which Timmy walks. To their daily tasks to support their queen, and their colony. They are diligent and strong miners below us. Ants have a very interesting was of reproducing, which is different from most animals and insects on our planet. It comes down to the way they reproduce, the small details that make a big impact, and the certain habits these tiny creatures must create a safe environment for their younglings.
It starts with a queen. Queens of the ant colonies are born to lay eggs since well, since when they are born. She produces all sorts of different kinds of Ant hierarchies. They have highly el=volved social systems. They have the queens, males, and the workers. Some workers are females as well.
Some jobs of the workers include, spending their lives taking care of the eggs and larvae, foraging for food, and some defend the nest. The queens at a certain time of the year, will hatch new queens and males. The queen will fly out of the nest to mate, and during the period males will have wings as well.
They will then mate in the air. The males become food to either birds or other insects soon after. After she will make a nest and never mate again. That queen then lays eggs and then hatch into larvae. She feeds the larvae with her saliva, and they eventually spin into a cocoon. Then a few weeks past and then new ants are born! The queen retires and just lays eggs. Soon the ants start working on their new colony. The eggs that were new queens and males will fly and build new colonies.
Ants take a very important role in our environment. They allow water and oxygen to reach plant roots. When ants take seeds, they often grow into new plants. Some ants eat honeydew, or any sweet substance produced by aphids. Ants provide other types of insects like arthropods, amphibians, mammals, and birds. These little creatures have been around for over 100 million years.
There is written to be about at least 12,000 identified ant species in the world. Scientists believe there could be even more. They Build their homes underground and conceal their homes with dirt. Which tunnels protects the ants from invasion. Ants in fact fight for their colonies against other ants. They can conduct the most effective escapes and are able to communicate very precisely. They can choose to jump from even their own colonies to start a new one.
Ants are very special insects. With being helpful towards our environment. They are the best allies when it comes to other creatures around them. The way they are born is significantly different yet comparable to some species like spiders. The way they produce is their own divine way of making a difference. To which they have been doing for millions of years. Ants are born, with lots of loyalty, and hard work. Just like the characteristics Timmy should apprehend in his life.
